IT01578: LOG COLLECTION ON COMPUTE NODE GENERATES A CWZIP3320W ERROR MESSAGE

APAR status

Error description

  • During system test both VIOS were shutdown on a compute node.
    Shortly after they were restarted the user navigated to System
    Console > Hardware > Compute Nodes and selected the "Request
    System Logs" Generate button.
    
    The following error occurred:
    CWZIP3320W VIOS diagnostic data cannot be collected.
    

Local fix

Problem summary

  • An IOEXception was being thrown when the dump files were being
    collected and causing the CWZIP3320W error message.
    

Problem conclusion

  • An exception handler has been added to ignore the IOExcpetion
    during the dump file copy and continue gathering the logs.
