APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• A user without administrative authority attempts to register
  with the ELB (Elastic Load Balancer) Proxy during a deployment,
  the following error occurs:
  .
  CWZKS1053E: createService elbServicePlaceholder/2.0.2.0 Service
  failed to authenticate
  .
  When the user had administrative authority, the ELB
  registration is successful.
  
  Another sympton is that a non-administrative user may get an
  error deploying a sample application while the ELB service is
  running:
  
  CWZKS1053E: createService
  elbServicePlaceholder/2.0.2.0_com.ibm.elbservice.placeholder.ELB
  PlaceholderServiceProvisioner
  error. Please ensure service is started.

Local fix

• Perform the operation with a user that has administrative
  authority to perform the deployment.
  

Problem summary

• The non-administrative users were not being provided the
  authority to perform valid operations that involved the ELB
  proxy service.
  

Problem conclusion

• A code fix is being provided in PureApplication System version
  2.0.0.1 to elevate the users authority when performing an
  allowed operation that uses the ELB proxy service.
