IT04789: DELETING A VIRTUAL SYSTEM PATTERN RESULTS IN THE VIRTUAL MACHINES IN TERMINATED STATE AND THE INSTANCE IN ERROR STATE

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• User create a large topology WebSphere cluster virtual system
  pattern and deployed it. After about 3 hours they deleted the
  virtual system instance.
  
  The virtual system instance changed to the error state and the
  individual virtual machines changed to the terminated state.
  
  The error message on the workload console is:
   CWZKS1079E: An error occurred while deleting the resource.
   Please see the server logs for more details.
  

Local fix

Problem summary

• The virtual system pattern deletion problem was caused by a
  timing issue between the deletion tasks for the virtual machines
  and the virtual system pattern.
  

Problem conclusion

• A fix is being provided so that the active virtual
  machine deletion tasks are allowed to complete before the call
  to delete the virtual system pattern is performed.
