Error description

• During a PureApplication system upgrade the user could not store
  several virtual machines to free up resources for the compute
  node upgrade.
  
  CWZIP1940E messages may be seen in the job log files:
  
  VMCVirtualApplianceDeployer | response: {StatusCode=404}
  VMCVirtualApplianceDeployer | Delete Operation.
      The HTTP response code is 404
  VMCVirtualApplianceDeployer | VmControl has not accepted the
      deletion of the instance [inst_ID] with resp code= 404

Local fix

Problem summary

• The store operation was failing because the image identifier
  being used was a cached value that had changed over time due to
  placement changes.
  

Problem conclusion
