IT03603: "CWZIP1908E THE IMPORT OF THE IMAGE FAILED ... NO SUCH FILE OR DIRECTORY" WHEN RESTORING A BACKUP FROM A DIFFERENT DIRECTORY

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• A System Backup, including a Component Backup, was written to
  the directory /backup/archives.
  
  This backup file was later moved to the directory
  /restore/archives so that a Component Restore could be
  performed.
  
  When the restore job runs, it fails with the error
  
  "CWZIP1908E The import of the image
  failed: nnnnnnn Caused by: scp:
  /backup/archives/nnnnnn/backupStorage/virtualimage/23/xxx.ova :
  No such file or directory".
  
  Although the Component Restore GUI finds the backup in
  /restore/archives, the restore job is still looking for it in
  /backup/archives.
  

Local fix

• Place the backup file in the directory structure it was
  originally created in before starting the restore
  

Problem summary

• The restore job was ignoring the restore directory specified in
  the System Console and using the directory stored in the backup
  archive metadata.
  

Problem conclusion

• A fix is being delivered to use the provided restore directory.
