Error description
A scheduled or manually started backup fails with error message "No space left on device". The error message can be seen by - Logging onto the PureApplication System, - Selecting System Console > System > Job Queue - Selecting the Type filter and typing: backup - Selecting the Job Details icon on the far right for the failed backup job.
Local fix
None. The space issue being reported is internal to the PureApplication System and does not indicate insufficient space is available on the backup location.
Problem summary
Files being backed up are encypted and then copied to the backup location. The files were being encrypted in parallel requiring a much higher temporary disk space which caused a "No space left on device" error to occur.
Problem conclusion
A fix is being delivered to encrypt files being backed up individually so that the space requirements are decreased.
