IT03009: HTTP 408 ERROR OCCURS WHILE STOPPING A VIRTUAL SYSTEM INSTANCE

APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • While stopping a Virtual System instance the POST requests from
    the asynchronous jobs are not reaching the placement process
    which causes an HTTP 408 request timeout error.
    
    This APAR is used to enhance error information for diagnosing
    the source of the HTTP 408 errors.
    

Local fix

  • Restarting the Virtual System instance may improve the
    situation.
    

Problem summary

  • Error handling should be added to provide better problem
    determination and provide error information.
    

Problem conclusion

  • A fix is being provided for additonal error handling to expose
    more information about why an HTTP error occurred and to add
    trace information in the log files.
