IT01252: CLOUD GROUP MEMORY AND CPU UTILIZATION REPORTS CONTRADICT THE CAPACITY GRAPHS

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Navigate to System Console > Reports > Machine Activity.
  Select either the Allocation by Cloud Group or Allocation by
  Compute Node reports. The Memory and CPU tabs of the Allocation
  by Cloud Group and Allocation by Compute Node reports display
  usage information and capacity information.
  
  In one instance there is memory usage activity occurring since
  November, but the capacity graph does not start until December.
  
  This is not correct as memory usage can not occur without memory
  capacity.
  

Local fix

Problem summary

• The machine activity resource sampler contained cleanup code to
  preserve database space. The historical data being removed on a
  monthly basis made the data sampling occasionaly resolve to
  zero.
  

Problem conclusion

• The cleanup code has been updated to only prune sampling data
  that is continuously generated.
