APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • The issue occurs when updating the "IBM OS Image for RedHat" to
move from the initial reference ID of 64 to the later version
with reference ID 136.

The following error occurred:

"Add image failed because 'IBM OS Image for Red Hat Linux
Systems' and 'IBM OS Image for Red Hat Linux Systems' has the
same operating system type."

Local fix

  • To change the default image.
Select the plain text "Delete" in the action column.
Then select Add to select the new default Deploy image.

Problem summary

  • The issue was caused by a design change made to allow for
multiple operating systems to be selected as an ESX Default
Deploy Setting.

Problem conclusion

  • The design has been modified so that the current operating
system selected as the default deploy setting must be deleted
before adding the new version of the operating system. The
messages on the user interface have been improved.
