Error description
Windows systems have a DNS registration checkbox that can be used to disable dynamic DNS registration. The Image Construction and Composition tool is not allowing the DNS registration to be disabled when capturing Windows images.
Local fix
In the extended image, *prior to capturing it*, the file c:\windows\setup\ibm\AS\ConfigNET.cmd Needs to have *two* occurrences of the string: netsh interface %ip% set dnsservers name=%iface% static %dns1% primary no changed to netsh interface %ip% set dnsservers name=%iface% static %dns1% none no Once this change has been manually nade to ConfigNET.cmd, along with anyother customizations for the new image, you can then proceed with the ICCT capture.
Problem summary
During synchronization and capture the DNS registration box was always marked as true even if user unchecked it in vmware tools.
Problem conclusion
The enablement bundles were updated fix this issue
