Error description

  • Deleting a raw disk volumes that is associated with a cloud
group with no compute nodes may prematurely delete the volume.

Local fix

Problem summary


    

  • Volumes that that are associated with a cloud group that has no
compute node should be put in pending delete state, then
deleted when a compute node becomes available. In some cases
the volume is properly placed into the pending delete state,
but the raw storage volume is deleted immediately as part of a
cascading delete.

    



Problem conclusion


    

  • Code was reorganized to properly mark the volume as "pending
delete" and prevent the raw storage volume from being
immediately deleted by a cascading delete.
