APAR status

Error description

  • When configuring the "System Backup and Restore" Backup settings
    in the System Console, if the user specifies different hosts for
    the "Certificate and private key storage" host (in Step 1), and
    the "Backup storage" host (in Step 3), then the backup process
    will fail.  The failure happens during the "Complete Backup Job
    #1 of 3" with a message:
    
    "Critical files missing from keyhost. To correct this issue,
    either upload or generate a new keypair"
    

Local fix

  • Ensure the host specified in Step #1 and Step #3 are the same
    host.
    

Problem summary

  • The backup code was using the wrong variable for a comparison
    during the backup setup.
    

Problem conclusion

  • The backup code has been corrected.
