Error description

• Due to the expiration of an internal password, inability to
  update running instances will occur.
  
  The log will contain the following errors which may vary
  with the specific instance update being performed:
  
  utils.SshConnection | EXCEPTION RUNNING CLOSURE - output >>You
  are required to change your password immediately (password aged)

Local fix

Problem summary

• The IBM Flex System Manager (FSM) had an internal user
  identifier that was expiring after 180 days.
  

Problem conclusion

• The FSM software included in the IBM PureApplication System
  version 1.1.0.2 contains the fix to the expiration date value of
  the user identifier.
