APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • When a PureSystem Manager is replaced or modified such that
the MAC address changes, the network time protocol
(NTP) settings may no longer be accurate. This can cause
deployed virtual machines to have inaccurate time. Once the
time drifts to more than 10 minutes off of the PureSystem
Manager time, virtual applications and shared services will
    fail to start.

Local fix

Problem summary

  • The floating IP address of the current PureSystem Manager
primary node should be used in the NTP settings code instead of
the IP address of a specific PureSystem Manager node.

Problem conclusion

  • The code has been updated to use the floating IP address.
