• An attempt to extend and capture the IBM OS Image for AIX failed
  with the following errors:

Local fix

Problem summary

• The issue was caused by an extremely large virtual system image
  and the tar command took much longer than the default time
  allotted in the image capture process.
  

Problem conclusion

• The tar command timeout value was increased to prevent the
  problem from occurring.
