APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • During the system upgrade the virtualization system manager
(VSM) node becomes unlicensed causing High Availability to fail.

The error is:

VMwareShimApplicationException: CWZIP8706E The following VMWare
    task running in the virtual management environment did not
    complete successfully: ERROR:
com.ibm.venture.vmware.sdk.vim25.NotEnoughLicensesHost could not
    be added to cluster. License not available to perform the
    operation..

Problem summary


    

  • The upgrade process was causing the license key to be
mis-processed.

    



Problem conclusion


    

  • A code fix is being provided in PureApplication System version
2.0.0.1 to check the license key, if it is not found set it
again from the previously stored value.
