Error description

  • RELABELSCRATCH paramater does not work on VTL with REUSEDELAY
    parameter greater than 0

    Problem Description:
When the RESUSEDELAY parameter is set to a value greater than 0,
volumes are not relabeled properly per the RELABELSCRATCH
    parameter in the device class.

The following message will be seen when the scratch volume goes
    pending:
ANR1342I Scratch volume XXXXXXL# is now pending - volume will be
deleted from storage pool STORAGE_POOL after the reuse delay
period for this storage pool has elapsed

And later the volume is deleted from the storage pool:
ANR1341I Scratch volume XXXXXXL# has been deleted from storage
    pool STORAGE_POOL

    However it is not relabeled.

    Versions affected: 5.5, 6.1, 6.2 and 6.3

Local fix

  • Set reusedelay to 0 or forcibly relabel scratch volumes upon
    deletion
