Error description

  • During system test there were storage volume deletion job
failures seen during a virtual system delete operation.

Errors during the jobs were:
instances.va_delete | Searching for volumes for the instance
   xxxx_DeleteAdd_xx
instances.va_delete | Found volumes [[storage_controllers:yyyy,
   name:vdisk55, id:zzzz]].
instances.va_delete | Searching for FlashCopy mappings for the
   volumes
com.ibm.purescale.utils.IPASLockManager$IPASLock | update locks
   set held=held+1 where lockname='aaaa'
utils.SshConnection | connecting to aaaa
utils.SshConnection | StrictHostKeyChecking = no
com.ibm.jsch.JschLogger | Connecting to aaaa port 22
utils.SshConnection | EXCEPTION RUNNING CLOSURE -
   java.net.ConnectException: Connection refused

Local fix

  • 



Problem summary


    

  • There was erroneous code in the virtual system delete operation
that was searching for FlashCopy references causing the job
errors.

    



Problem conclusion


    

  • The FlashCopy references were removed from the virtual system
delete job.
