Error description

  • The cas.agent version 1.4.2.32 creates a file that causes the
    root file system to run out of available storage quickly.
    
    Impact:
    The root file system may become filled to capacity which can
    have unpredictable effects on the operational state of the
    system.
    

Local fix

Problem summary

  • iFix IC85310.120713.epkg.Z has been created to fix cas.agent
    1.4.2.32.  This fix resolves the problem where cas.agent causes
    the root file system to fill up. It also removes the file that
    is being created incorrectly and which results in the root file
    system space problem.
    NOTE: This iFix will need to be uninstalled manually, following
    the instructions which follow, prior to upgrading the operating
    system:

    emgr -R IC85310       // Force remove ifix
    VIOS:
        oem_setup_env       // from the VIOS command line as padmin

Problem conclusion

  • iFix IC85310.120713.epkg.Z will be made generally available for
    this issue.
    
    The fix for this APAR is included in IBM System Director update
    6.3.2.
