Tools to assist the configuration of DHCP for sharing the PXE boot space between IBM Tivoli Provisioning products and other boot servers, to boot over PXE across VLANs and to enhance PXE security.
IBM PXE configuration tools for DHCP are a set of documentation and small utilities providing assistance to enable a DHCP-ready environment for using PXE network boot.
Whereas PXE is easy to configure in a test environment, using it on a corporate network with strong security constraints, multiple VLANs and possible multiple network-boot enabled third-party products requires a significant expertise. These tools provide an easy interface to properly design an implement PXE vendor options in order to achieve the desired PXE service level.
The PXE configuration tool is compatible with most DHCP servers, including Microsoft DHCP server, ISC DHCP Server and Lucent QIP DHCP server. There is an additional tool to remotely configure Microsoft DHCP server.
