Description
In IBM® Maximo® Version 6 (V6), you can utilize BIRT reporting thru a Version 7 instance. This option is called V7RI, or Version 7 Report Integration. Utilizing the V7RI option can enable you to streamline future custom report upgrades by utilizing the V7 report engine, along with other V7 reporting features.
To utilize V7RI in the Maximo 626 or 627 fix pack levels, follow the instructions and files provided here.
In IBM® Maximo® Version 6 (V6), the open reporting architecture has been extended with a new BIRT reporting integration. This integration is enabled thru the use of a Version 7 instance (V7), and is called V7RI, or Version 7 Report Integration.
The V7RI integration is enabled in V6 by using the External Report Integration (ERI). The ERI enables the V6 instance to connect to an external reporting system, which in this case, is V7. The V7 instance is utilized for its administrative and reporting capabilities only.
Within the V7RI configuration, a V7 database instance is required. The V7 database acts as the repository for the report design files. Therefore, the V7RI architecture includes a Version 6 and Version 7 Maximo environment, along with two database instances.
With the V7RI integration, V6 users will continue to select and execute reports from within their V6 environment. Users will select their V7RI report from the Action Menu. They will then be seamlessly and silently logged into the V7 environment where their report, with their unique application query or parameter inputs, will display. This enables a deeply integrated, seamless user experience.
To enable the V7RI:
- For Maximo Fix Pack Levels 6.2.6 and 6.2.7, follow the instructions located here.
- For Maximo Fix Pack Level 6.2.8 and future releases, follow the instructions located at this url: http://ibm.co/lzF5DO
