- Note that the terms and conditions of this trial program are governed by the trial agreement in place between you and the IBM Business Partner. Detailed questions as to terms and conditions of this program should be directed to the IBM Business Partner.
- System, unless noted, comes with standard warranty support for the trial period.
- System, where noted, come with Operating system support via AIX (V5.3 or later), IBM i, or Linux distributions from Red Hat (RHEL AS 4 or later) and SUSE Linux (SLES 9 or later)
User will be quoted for the system selected by the IBM Business Partner. Quotes will also include any additional charges that a normal POWER purchase would include, i.e., shipping, taxes, etc. User or Partner buys or returns the exact system selected for the trial at the end of 60 day trial period. User is responsible for loss, theft or damage to the system during the trial period.
60-day time line starts from the date of system shipment from IBM.
If returning, user calls the IBM Business Partner who delivers the system. System needs to be boxed in original packaging for collection.
IBM Business Partner will provide a priced proposal to user for the selected system.
If purchasing, the warranty period for the purchased system restarts at the date of actual purchase.
If user has not informed intent to purchase or return the system, an invoice will automatically be sent. The user is obligated to pay for the POWER server per the trial agreement in place between user and IBM Business Partner.
If user or partner does not pay the invoice, IBM Business Partner will take necessary actions to secure payment or return of the system.
IBM Business Partner retains title to the system during the trial period until the system is purchased.

- IBM Authorized Partners (Resellers, Distributors and Systems Integrators) with an identified end user per application.
- IBM Authorized Partners (ISVs and others)
- Consumers/individuals properly qualified.
- IBM and Partners' employees are NOT eligible to participate in the Try and Buy Program, nor are they allowed to complete the application on behalf of a company or IBM Authorized Partner.
- Applications completed by IBM employees will be denied.
Application and order limits: (To be determined by participating country and Partner - this is proposal only)
- For companies: One (1) POWER application, with a maximum of five (5) systems outstanding at any one time per company. A company is defined as a legal entity. ie) If a parent company operates with multiple legal entities worldwide, each legal entity is allowed a maximum of five (5) systems outstanding.
- For IBM Authorized Partners: One (1) POWER application, with a maximum outstanding at any one time of ten (10) systems or the number of systems available within the IBM Authorized Partner's available credit line with IBM, whichever is less.
- For consumers/individuals: One (1) POWER application, with a maximum of one (1) system outstanding.
