The Certified Pre-owned desktop you buy from IBM.com has been fully tested and certified by trained technicians to verify every major component is in 100% working order.
The first step is receiving thousands of pre-owned desktops every month from corporate and academic environments. Our primary concern is making sure you get a fully functioning desktop, so the next thing we do is inspect every component.

Our inspection and refurbishment process includes but is not limited to:

  • Complete reformatting of hard drive, removing any trace of what the last owner had installed;
  • Full-function testing of hard drive, optical drive, memory, motherboard, keyboard and screen;
  • Examining desktop case for any damage;
  • Thorough airbrushing, cleaning and paint touch-up so your desktop looks virtually new.


    • We are a Microsoft Authorized Refurbisher (MAR). That means we install a MAR edition of Windows operating system on our IBM Certified Pre-owned desktops. When you boot up your desktop for the first time, you'll be prompted to register your operating system with Microsoft.

  • "Scratch and dent" desktops will have more noticeable scratches, and possible small dents in the case.
