Activate unused capacity at no charge

IBM’s Linux on Power offering enables customers to get more value from their IT Investment. Linux has earned a reputation for flexibility and cost effectiveness, and organizations are benefiting from the openness of Linux that is supported by a large worldwide open source community.

And now, customers with unused CUoD processor/memory capacity have the ability to turn those resources on at no charge when they activate them with the purchase of a Linux on Power software license.

Just acquire a selected eligible new Linux for Power software license from IBM, and you can receive, at no charge:

• up to 8 eligible new processor activation features, and
• up to 32 GB of eligible new memory activation features

for a single qualifying installed IBM Power Systems server with Capacity Upgrade on Demand (CUoD) processors and/or memory.

In order to qualify for the no-charge activation features, IBM records must show the qualifying IBM Power Systems server, including the qualifying CUoD features, as installed in your Enterprise for a minimum of 30 days prior to the date the eligible new software license and activation features are ordered.

There is a limit of one installed Power Systems server that qualifies for no-charge activation features under the terms of this offering per customer location (single building with a single mailing address).
