    • Colin Parris

      Colin J. Parris, Ph.D.
      General Manager, Power Systems
      IBM Systems & Technology Group


      Dr. Parris is currently the General Manager for IBM’s Power Systems business in the IBM Systems & Technology Group (STG). In this role he is responsible for all Power System’s business operations including the delivery of the multi-billion dollar revenue and profit objectives of the IBM Power Systems business. The Power Systems business encompasses all of the hardware, operating systems, and systems software sales and delivery associated with the UNIX, System I, and Linux on Power marketplaces. Dr. Parris is currently a member of the IBM Performance Team and the Integration and Values Team. He is also on the Board of Governors of the IBM Academy of Technology.

      In his previous role he was Vice President and Business Line Executive, Power Systems with responsibility for the business operations and portfolio development for the IBM Power Systems business. Prior to this role he was Vice President, Systems Software Development and Lab Services in STG. In this role he was responsible for the development of the systems software, including operating systems, management systems, and tools, for all of IBM’s server products and solutions.

      Jeff Jonas is Chief Scientist, IBM Entity Analytics Group and an IBM Distinguished Engineer. The IBM Entity Analytics Group was formed based on technologies developed by Systems Research & Development (SRD), founded by Jonas in 1984, and acquired by IBM in January, 2005. Prior to the acquisition Jonas lead SRD through the design and development of a number of unique systems including technology used by the Las Vegas gaming industry. One such innovation played a pivotal role in protecting the gaming industry from aggressive card count teams. The most notable known as the MIT team featured in the book "Bringing Down the House", and recent movie "21".

      Pat O’Rourke is the technology lead for the IBM Executive Briefing Center in Austin Texas. Pat concentrates on Power technology: Processor roadmaps, Server offerings & directions, Virtualization futures, and Green offerings for Power Systems.

      Pat has been with IBM for 32 years. In the beginning of his IBM tenure, he was involved with IBM Mainframes, and was a Technical Specialist for DOS/VSE, CICS, and VM. Later in his career, he became involved with Personal Computers and IBM RISC System offerings. He has provided technical support, performed sales & marketing functions of IBM UNIX servers and workstations since their introduction in 1990. Pat has been with the Executive Briefing Center for the last 12 years.

    • Steve Will

      Steve Will is the Chief Architect for the IBM i Operating System. Steve joined IBM in Rochester, Minnesota in January 1985 after receiving his Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics and Computer Science from Luther College, and his Masters Degree in Computer Science from Purdue University. Steve has worked as a software programmer, designer and architect at all operating system levels, from the communication between processors to integrated security to web programming enablement.

      In his role as Chief Architect, he is responsible for the strategy and plan for IBM i, a Power Systems operating system used by over one hundred thousand enterprises world wide. He is a frequent speaker at customer events, collects requirements from customer advisory groups, and works with professionals both inside and outside IBM on future technology.

    • Mark Olson

      Mark is heavily involved with the definition of future Power Systems hardware products and the education of customers, IBMers, and IBM Business Partner sales personnel on new hardware product and system offering announcements. These announcements cover hardware used by both IBM i, AIX and Linux. Mark has an extensive history with product planning and announcements of Power Systems and their predecessor products for 20+ years. Prior to that, Mark was an IBM Sales Representative/Systems Engineer. He resides in Rochester, Minnesota, USA.

    • Jay Krumecke

      As part of the IBM POWER Systems marketing team, Jay's responsibilities include product positioning, driving future product directions, and evangelizing the capabilities and future directions for AIX. Jay has held a variety of roles at IBM including systems administrator, manager of the AIX Architecture team, product manager at Tivoli, presenter on the Austin Briefing center staff, a SAP systems management consultant, a member of the AIX development team and a mainframe system programmer and administrator. In his spare time, Jay enjoys cooking, hiking, camping and flying private planes.

    • Jay Kruemcke

      Nigel is a hands-on techie and talks from experience on the new features of POWER7, AIX and Systems Director on AIX. You may know him as the “n” in the popular nmon performance monitoring tool, which he developed for 12 years but is now part of AIX itself. Nigel has 30 years UNIX/AIX experience while working as a C programmer, on UNIX kernel internals, RDBMS as a DBA, performance monitoring and tuning, benchmarking and solution sizing. Nigel is now involved with product introduction, educating IBMers and customers in exploiting new features to reduce cost, increase usage and flexibility.     • Jay Krumecke

      Jeff Scheel
      Power Linux Chief Architect
      IBM Systems and Technology Group


      Jeff Scheel is an Senior Technical Staff Member in IBM's Linux Technology Center. He joined IBM in 1992 in Rochester, MN with a B.S. in Computer Engineering from University of California at Davis. He has worked at IBM in Storage I/O adapter microcode, Logical Partitioning software, Linux for IBM's POWER Systems, and software for the Blue Gene super computer. He currently serves as the Linux for Power Chief Architect, directing IBM's investment and setting technical direction for future investment in Power Linux.
