Authorized products can only be acquired through those IBM Business Partners who have been authorized by IBM. There are two paths for obtaining authorization to resell products within the Authorized Portfolio:
- Authorized IBM Business Partners demonstrate advanced skills through certifications and approved solutions. Authorization will help ensure that clients get the right solution, reduce the risk inherent in any deployment, and increase client return on investment.
- Coming 01 Jul 2012! IBM will be moving a number of products from Open distribution to Software Value Plus (SVP) Authorized distribution. Find out which products are moving to which Product Groups (PDF, 30KB). If you are already authorized for these Product Groups, you're all set to go! If not, find out the requirements and apply.

What's new
- It’s here! The new Smarter Cities Product Group is now available. The Intelligent Operations Center, Intelligent Water and Intelligent Transportation products moved to this authorized Product Group from open distribution. Certifications for this new Product Group may be viewed under IBM Other Software and then the Smarter Cities Authorization Group on the PartnerWorld Training and certification website.
- Coming soon! On 11 Apr 2012, IBM launched a new family of expert integrated systems, and at the same time introduced a new Product Group called Expert Integrated Systems, which supports the PureApplication System, an integrated hardware and software appliance. The sales mastery and technical certifications for this new Product Group will be available shortly.
- New! Effective April 5th, the IBM Netezza Product Group was renamed the IBM Big Data and Netezza Product Group and two products moved from the IBM Data Management Product Group to this renamed Product Group: InfoSphere BigInsights and InfoSphere Streams. IBM Business Partners who wish to remarket those products must be approved for the renamed Product Group.
FileNet and InfoSphere Support Providers update:
IBM Software Value Plus Support Provider certification requirements for FileNet and InfoSphere portfolios have been revised. Authorized FileNet and InfoSphere Support Providers: review the update today to ensure your certification requirements are current!
- New! IBM Security products consolidated under SVP Authorized on 13 Feb 2012. The Tivoli Security & Compliance Management Product Group has a new name: the Security Systems Product Group. Plus, AppScan products moved from the Rational Authorized Product Group to this renamed Product Group. View the certifications for approval in the Security Systems Product Group.
