IBM PartnerWorld Profiling System User Guide

Here you can view the list of profile access for each employee at a location as well as PartnerWorld roles and key contacts. If you are a Primary Relationship Contact (PRC) or Authorized Profile Administrator (APA) and require information on how to update or edit profile access, please refer to Access roles.

The roles within PPS are based on the following logic:

• There is one Primary Relationship Contact
• There can be multiple Authorized Profile Administrators
• There can be many employees with profile update access

The following roles may be seen in the roles summary:

Primary Relationship Contact (PRC)

• There must be only one Primary Relationship Contact (PRC) for each location.
• The first person who creates a location becomes the PRC, therefore, the PRC role is set at the location profile level.
• Is a required role.
• Is considered a business role.
• Has an Authorized Profile Administrators (APA) security role.
• Is the designated person associated with each company location who receives e-mails pertaining to PartnerWorld and who is responsible for taking action on these emails.
• Receives a "Losing Certification" email when a certification is set to expire within 90 days. This email will contain a listing of all employees whose certification will no longer count toward PartnerWorld level skills points within the next 90 days.
• If the designated PRC leaves the company or is reassigned, another person at the location must be assigned this role, as a PRC role is a requirement of IBM PartnerWorld.
• If a PRC is missing from the profile, every APA at the location with an e-mail address will instead receive the PartnerWorld communications targeted to the PRC.

PRC at the headquarters location in a country enterprise (in addition to above)

• Can manage the country enterprise information and all location information.
• Can manage any other location and employees within the country enterprise.

PRC at the headquarters location of a worldwide enterprise (in addition to above)

• Can manage any country enterprise within the worldwide enterprise

Authorized Profile Administrators (APA)

• There can be multiple APAs, this means you can have as many APAs as you wish in any location.
• Is a considered a security role.
• Have administrative update authority.
• Receives a "Losing Certification" email (if there is no valid email address for the HQ location PRC) when a certification is set to expire within 90 days. This email will contain a listing of all employees whose certification will no longer count toward PartnerWorld level skills points within the next 90 days.
• Should perform ongoing maintenance to the company's location information.
• Can send a system-generated email to employees inviting them to register in PPS.
• Can copy employees and move their certifications to a new location.
• Can grant other employees access to the entitled PartnerWorld Web site.
• Can grant other employees access to update the PartnerWorld Profiling System (PPS).
• Perform product certification contract compliance activities.
• With location edit authority, can activate or revoke access to the Software Access Catalog (SAC) for an active contact.

Distributor contact with employee personal information access

• Only applies to North America for IBM Business Partners for which contract compliance is required.
• Enables the IBM distributors to assist and manage the solution providers contract compliance.
• Is considered a security role.
• Only Tier 2 Business Partners may authorize the distributor to have this security role.

Distributor contact

• Enables the IBM distributors to view the summary of contract compliance certifications for authorized hardware products, without viewing sensitive information about individual employees or the company.
• Is considered a security role.
• Only Tier 2 Business Partners may authorize the distributor to have this security role.
• Only applies to North America.

Personal information update only

• There can be many employees with personal information update access.
• This allows employees to update only their own personal profile information.
• Is considered a security role.

View only profile access

• There can be many employees with view only access.
• This role gives users the ability to update their personal profile information and view limited information within the company profile.
• Is considered a security role.
