The IBM Software Group division formerly referred to as IBM Tivoli, will now be known as IBM Cloud & Smarter Infrastructure.
Over the past decade, the infrastructure needs of clients have grown well beyond traditional IT systems management with the accelerated adoption of cloud, mobile, and smarter physical assets. IBM has responded by evolving our portfolio of offerings to meet these needs head on, helping Partners and their clients transform their infrastructures and business models to better achieve desired outcomes. We will continue to drive change that is necessary to ensure our IBM Cloud and Smart Infrastructure Partners are positioned to win in the market.
IBM Cloud & Smarter Infrastructure is now the overarching umbrella which reflects the evolution of client needs and IBM's portfolio, and includes Tivoli, Maximo, TRIRIGA, Endpoint Manager, and Netcool branded offerings, as well as SmartCloud service management offerings. All of these branded offerings remain under the renamed division, as do their roadmaps.

Top 10 #3 - Optimizing application performance
If you deliver solutions on WAS or WebSphere Portal, or help customers tune performance and resolve problems with their applications on those servers, then this session is for you. It will provide an overview and live demo of a new tool, IBM Application Performance Diagnostics Lite, that’s available free of charge to help you gain visibility into WAS and WebSphere Portal solutions in pre-production environments. It will help you find the bottlenecks – the proverbial needle in the haystack - thereby reducing the time it takes to resolve problems, helping to optimize performance, and thus improving your customer’s satisfaction. Based on the same technology used by IBM Tivoli Composite Application Manager for Application Diagnostics, but without the infrastructure, IBM APD Lite can be installed on a WAS or WebSphere Portal Server and provide value in approximately 15 minutes. Also included is a new Eclipse-based UI that makes it easy to pinpoint problem spots in the application and find the root cause within just a couple of clicks. Although this tool is free, it provides a glimpse of the vast capabilities customers can obtain by purchasing ITCAM for Application Diagnostics, which adds significant additional functionality, for their production environments giving you an upsell opportunity.

IBM Tivoli Storage Manager
Top 10 #10 - Beta enrollment now open
IBM Tivoli Storage development is running a beta program for an upcoming release of Tivoli Storage Manager. This beta will consist of three phases, the first shipping code for the TSM client and Data Protection for VMware, the second phase focusing on the server and the third phase will center on the TSM Operations Center.
TSM 7.1 will continue focus on simplifying user experience, protecting virtual environments and improving disaster recovery scenarios. The new TSM Operations Center reduces complexity of managing TSM environments, provides “at a glance” visibility to entire backup assets for faster root cause analysis and corrective actions, and offers a common look and feel to other successful IBM storage GUIs such as IBM Storwize V7000 and Tivoli Storage Productivity Center. We intend to simplify the installation and configuration experience with TSM for both novice and experienced users, introduce administrative actions in the Operations Center with additional visibility to TSM server. We will also enable client auto-failover for recovery of data in replication scenarios to enhance node replication capability, and improve TSM server performance when advanced functions such as deduplication and node replication are used. There are also extensive enhancements to IBM's TSM for Virtual Environments planned, such as full virtual machine instant restore for improved RTO, item level recovery for MS SQL and Exchange, and support for VMware vCloud deployment.
