SmartZone™ Solutions to OMNIbus Integration V1.0

Tab navigation

The SmartZone Infrastructure Management Software  solution provides configuration and management related to POU, PViQ, and other management components for the physical management of racks, rack units, power outlets, and physical port management. This solution integrates alerts and alarms from SmartZone Infrastructure Management Software to Omnibus®.

This integration enables event enrichment and correlation for PanView iQ™ (PViQ™) intelligence-enabled hardware and optional instructions on how to integrate with the IBM Maximo® incident Management System. Upon installation of the integration components, the user is presented with a single, holistic point of view in which to monitor the physical infrastructure components of a data center environment. Additionally, this integration provides a foundation upon which a user can develop further customizations.

  • + Functional details

The SmartZone™ Infrastructure Management Software solution is a web application that maps and monitors these physical attributes at both the physical and logical layers of the network infrastructure with robust management and monitoring features, SmartZone™ Infrastructure Management Software helps to automate maintenance procedures and network documentation of the physical layer to enhance system reliability, security, and capacity management and planning. Remote management capabilities allow for global, regional, and local management and monitoring for decreased mean time to repair and increased mean time between failures.

  • + Business problem

Typically NMS tools can provide extensive information on events in a network; however, they don't provide visibility into physical layer connectivity, asset tracking, power and cooling. SmartZone™ Infrastructure Management Software provides real-time monitoring and visibility into Physical Layer connectivity within data centers and enterprises. In addition, SmartZone™ Infrastructure Management Software provides fault management functionalities using its Event Management Module.

  • + Business opportunity

IBM® provides potential for new OMNIbus customers Panduit provides potential for Panduit infrastructure hardware and software.

  • + Competitive advantage

Enriched events provided by the SmartZone™ Infrastructure Management Software are not available via SNMP therefore integration with third-party applications through Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) allows SmartZone™ Infrastructure Management Software to augment existing network management systems and service desks for complete end-to-end management of network elements.
