Our editors have been hard at work creating a fantastic new layout with clearer organization and more focused academic content. China: 2007 IBM SUR project under way at Chinese universities
Four Chinese top universities are using an IBM Shared University Research (SUR) award in a joint project on Service Science research. The project involves in depth research in the SSME field and aims to apply research results to solid case studies and courseware for teaching. Join in and exchange ideas.

China: CNGrid CELL BE Symposium a success
IBM China with the collaboration of the Chinese Academy of Science (CAS) hosted the CNGrid Cell BE Symposium on IBM advanced Cell technology and its application in Beijing. The symposium fostered deep discussions and technical exchanges among 70 attendees from Chinese universities, IBM Cell specialists, and CAS.

Egypt: CAS Cairo and Bibliotheca Alexandrina collaborate to preserve the Great Sphinx
Using Immersive Virtual Reality Applications to study the effect of wind, the project aims to develop a comprehensive protection and perseverance plan for the Great Sphinx. The International School of Information Science team at Bibliotheca Alexandrina created the visualization, with research data provided by IBM Egypt Center for advanced studies.

Turkey: KoUniversity's IBM SUR award applied to supply chain project
The IBM Shared University Research (SUR) award at KoUniversity was given to the Engineering Faculty for hardware, software and services. Asst. Prof. Dr. Metin Tkay, lecturer at the Industrial Engineering Faculty, will use the award funds for his project "Innovation at the Supply Chain".
