India: The Great Mind Challenge 2006 grand finale
IBM Academic Initiative's national contest for India, The Great Mind Challenge 2006, celebrated its success with a felicitation ceremony at The Park, Chennai. Students and faculties from across the country were invited to attend the award ceremony. 20 teams and 30 colleges spread across 18 states were acknowledged for their participation and contribution.

India: IBM conducts collaboration jam at Christ College, Bangalore
Participants from the automotive, banking, healthcare, hospitality, telecommunications, and retail sectors around the world came together in collaboration jam sessions to find solutions to pressing business problems. IBM hosted the sessions, using Lotus Sametime 7.5 web conferencing to communicate daily and Lotus QuickPlace 7 as the data repository.

Russia: IBM University Day in Siberia
IBM University Day in Siberia took place in Krasnoyarsk on March 13, 2007 in partnership with Siberian Federal University. Topics of discussion included collaboration with Siberian universities in implementing IBM technologies in the education process and addressing clientsneeds for skilled specialists in the region.

Turkey: New IBM Center of Advanced Studies at Bilgi University
IBM opened its 20th Center of Advanced Studies (CAS) on April 11 at Bilgi University to strengthen links between universities, research communities, and IBM Turkey. Initial programs include a nine-week series of seminars and workshops on such topics as Linux certification, WebSphere and WebSphere Studio workshops, Enterprise Security and Open Source Software, High Performance and Multi-agent Computing, a Rational Portfolio Manager workshop, and much more.

Worldwide: IBM launches Codestation for developers in Second Life
Codestation is a new IBM area in Second Life where developers can get training and information, as well as learn about the benefits of collaborating in this exciting 3-D virtual environment.
