The South China University of Technology (SCUT) in Guangzhou, China will be offering the IBM Certified for e-business Solution Designer (Test 811) as of October 2000. All students involved in the program must pass an exam at the end of their coursework to receive certification.
The certification program gives SCUT students instruction on the IBM Software Strategy for e-business - IBM 's roadmap
to successful e-business transformations. The course provides students with a sound base of knowledge in open
standards-based e-business architectures - knowledge that IBM
developed through thousands of e-business transformation engagements.
Graduates of the IBM /SCUT program can look forward to a
lucrative career in an industry starved for skilled workers. "In China there is an increasing demand for talented
IT professionals with e-business skills," says professor Xi Jian Qing of SCUT's computer department. "We are glad
to cooperate with IBM on the e-business curriculum. We hope our
graduates will have more appeal in this highly competitive world with the e-business skills they will learn."
