Winners from the annual ACM International Collegiate Programming Contest

Successes

Programming contests have become one of the largest technology-related extracurricular activities for youth. These competitions gather the brightest young minds in high schools around the world. They're not only a great way to challenge yourself, but are also a great way to meet a ton of new people, compete with the top contestants in your division, learn something new, and best of all, just to have a great time!

Putting all the serious stuff aside, there are also loads of prizes and awards to be won by those who do extremely well. Some of these rewards include:

  • Gold, Silver and Bronze Medals for the top 3 contestants
  • Certificates of Distinction
  • Significant cash prizes
  • Invitations and all expense paid trips to higher-level competitions
  • State of the art computer systems
  • Scholarships to universities of significant value
  • Travel awards to various institutions of significant value
  • Donations from sponsors

And hey, how many people can say they've won top honors against the brightest minds of their generation? Some of the students who have placed well have gone on to land jobs, research positions, and entrances into some very distinguished universities!
