IBM System i Innovation Challenge

To participate in Part 1 you will need your access code that you received when you registered for the contest. Registration is now closed. If you registered and did not receive an access code, or if you need it resent, please contact the Innovation Challenge team.

The objective of Part 1 is to get you acquainted with System i technology by learning about our marketplace and customers, our environment, our community, and other aspects of the System i platform. There are two tasks in this section, detailed below. As soon as your team has successfully completed both tasks, you will be ready to go on to Part 2.

The faster your team completes Part 1, the better your chances of winning. The students on the first 150 teams to complete Part 1 in its entirety each get a custom designed t-shirt, and the students on the first 5 teams that successfully complete Part 1, each receive a $25(USD) Amazon.com gift certificate.

This part is easy. Each of the team members must register on iSociety. Go to iSociety, find the "Community" section, and click the "Join" button. Register using the link "I am NOT a COMMON (Europe) member but wish to participate in iSociety". Complete the registration form, and make sure to use the same email address that you used to register for the System i Innovation Challenge. That's how we will verify that you registered and completed this task.

Now that you are registered for iSociety, you are ready to start Task 2.

To complete this task, one person on your team must get 100% of the questions correct. However, to win a t-shirt your team only needs to take the quiz. To be eligible for the $25(USD) Amazon.com gift certificate, your team must answer all questions correctly and be one of the first five teams to submit your answers. There are a total of 30 multiple choice questions. Each of your team members should have received an access code for this quiz, and we encourage all of you to take the test. We think you will find it entertaining and at the same time you are learning about System i. You can take this quiz again until you get them all right!

You will need to do some research to answer all of the questions correctly, and listed below are some of the Web sites that will be useful. You might want to look at the quiz, then do your research before actually submitting your answers.
