2007 IBM Master the Mainframe Contest winners

The IBM Academic Initiative System z and the IBM Master the Mainframe Contest Team would like to recognize all of the students who have distinguished themselves in the 2007 IBM Master the Mainframe Contest. With 1,750 students registering to compete from 325 schools across the U.S. and Canada, the turnout for this year's contest was unprecedented, making the winners' accomplishments even more remarkable.

Part 3 winners

The competition in Part 3 this year was extremely tough, with many students turning in exceptional performances. Students deserve much credit for just attempting the difficult and time-consuming Part 3 challenges. After months of hard work put in by many contestants, we are pleased to announce this year's Part 3 winners:

1st place: Sushen Patel, Highland Park High School
2nd place: Anar Huseynov, West Texas A&M University
3rd place: Krzysztof Janiszewski, Edison College
4th place: Christian McArthur, Texas State University
5th place: Zach Savishinsky, SUNY Binghamton

We hope these students can tear themselves away from their 3270 emulators long enough to enjoy their new Nintendo Wii systems.

To view the names of the fifteen students who also excelled in Part 3 and separated themselves from the pack, please visit our honorable mention page.

All of these students have demonstrated exceptional intelligence, perseverance and, of course, exemplary mainframe skills. Congratulations on all of your remarkable efforts and achievements!
