Challenge 2: Top Innovator

Welcome to the Cell/B.E. Challenge 2 - Top Innovator!

The Top Innovator Challenge is aimed at inviting innovative applications and solutions that can bring out the best in Cell Broadband Engine™(Cell/B.E.). It’s a test of your understanding of parallel architecture and multicore processors as well as your coding prowess and ability to make programmability significantly easier for any developer. And of course, an opportunity to win excellent cash prizes and be recognized worldwide!

Please utilize the resources in the right section of this page to get more information on Cell Broadband Engine, Programming Concepts, and getting comfortable with the Cell/B.E. System Simulator. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask in the developerWorks forum at the Cell/B.E. Processor Resource Center. Once you are reasonably comfortable with the programming concepts you may proceed to pick your area of expertise in the categories and examples mentioned further below.

Refer to the Official Rules section for the exact rules, winner selection and submission format and requirements. Please also note the licensure and eligibility section.

Make sure your entries include the following:
1) A 1-2 page high level description of the code and its attributes
2) Submission of code (e.g. C or C++), proof-of-concept (e.g., data, comparative results with other architectures if any, etc.), and binaries.
3) Any other supporting materials - additional specifications or detailed documentation
4) Create a project in sourceforge.net and send a link with your submission; Include the link in the Abstract Section of the Submissions Page.
5) Must complete and submit online, the IBM Certificate of Originality. Alternatively, you can also download and complete it, and email it to cucadmin@us.ibm.com. To download the COO, click here .
