A survey of over 300 customers attending the Impact event concluded that businesses around the world are quickly moving from the adoption phase of an SOA strategy to the actual deployment of SOA technologies and services. According to the survey, the rate of SOA deployment is on the rise, and 42 percent of customers indicated SOA was their company's top spending priority in 2008.

IBM rated number one in application integration middleware market share

In June, Gartner published their 2007 Application Integration Middleware Market Share report. They named IBM as the overall leader. The market grew to US$14.1 billion in 2007, an increase of 12.9 percent. IBM had a 28.9 percent market share and grew at 15.1 percent, faster than the total market. The market's growth was the result of emerging market segments, including business process management and enterprise service bus.

IBM was also ranked number one in the following key submarkets: business process management, enterprise service bus, application servers, message-oriented middleware, transaction-processing monitoring, integration appliances, and portal products and user-interaction tools.

Start an SOA project today with WebSphere Business Modeler and offer your customer significant savings. Customers in the US and Canada can receive a US$7,500 rebate for each purchase of an eligible collaborative enterprise modeling solution that includes WebSphere Business Modeler or WebSphere Business Modeler Publishing Server.

WebSphere DataPower customer rebate offer
Customers can receive a US$10,000 rebate if they acquire an eligible new IBM WebSphere DataPower configuration that includes all of the following:
  • Two WebSphere DataPower Integration Appliance XI50 devices.
  • Two Options for Database Connectivity.
  • Two WebSphere DataPower 1-year maintenance agreements.
  • Qualifying DataPower services.
The rebate requires a minimum invoice price of US$10,000 from an IBM Business Partner certified to sell and install IBM WebSphere DataPower appliances. This promotion expires on 26 Aug 2008.
