Follow these steps to register for Second Life® and participate in the PartnerWorld Industry Networks collaboration benefits.
Register for Second Life and create an avatar
Create an account at the Second Life
membership
page.
Linden Lab® does not charge for a basic account.
Choose your avatar name. Create a first name and select a last name from the list provided. This is your virtual identity. You cannot change your avatar name later.
Enter your birth date and e-mail address.
Pick an avatar style from the basic body types. You can change this later.
Enter your real name, password, and newsletter choice. Enter none for your referral name. After you have read and agree to the terms and conditions, accept them to complete your registration.
Register for a connection event in Second Life
After IBM processes your submission, you will receive a group invitation through e-mail with your registration confirmation and a link to the PartnerWorld Industry Networks in Second Life.
Your avatar will also receive a group invitation the next time you enter Second Life.
