Review these best practices to get the most out of the IBM Sales Connections benefit. This benefit is best used for closing deals, consultation, and building relationships with the IBM sales team.

Review the IBM Signature Selling Method (SSM).
A lead must be at SSM stage four or higher to be entered into Sales Connections. Review this selling method and make sure your lead qualifies.

Submit all your joint opportunities.
The more leads you submit, the more extensive track record you will create with the IBM sales team. This can lead to more opportunities for Business Partners with IBM.

Try it.
To truly understand how this benefit can work for you, you have to try it.

Be detailed.
Fill out the Sales Connections form with as much detail as possible to ensure a smooth and quick process.

Also enter your lead into IBM Software Value Incentive (SVI).
Enter your lead into Sales Connections to get help closing the deal, and then enter it into Sign in required SVI to earn incentives if the deal contributes to the sale of IBM software products. You can read about frequently asked questions on IBM Sales Connections and Software Value Incentive.

Highlight your IBM relationship and solution to the IBM sales team
Be sure to create a Business Partner sales resume to summarize the value of your Business Partner relationship with IBM and your solution for joint selling with the IBM sales team. After creating your resume, you can add it to your solution in the Global Solutions Directory.

When you submit a Sales Connections opportunity using that solution, your resume will be automatically sent to the IBM field sales resource that is engaged to work jointly with you.

  • Ensure your solution is listed in the Global Solutions Directory
  • Create your resume in your company collateral library
  • Mark your resume as IBM internal use only
  • Attach your resume to your solution
