					<title>IBM Awarded Analytics Contract to Improve Programming and Planning for U.S. Special Operations Command</title>

					The U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) has awarded IBM a technology and services contract to modernize the planning, programming, budgeting and execution functions within the command. USSOCOM and IBM will work together to design, develop and integrate the Special Operations Resource Business Information System (SORBIS) using advanced analytics and reporting capabilities to speed access to information to improve the command&#39;s business enterprise. The award has an estimated contract value not to exceed $20 million over the five-year indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity (IDIQ) contract.

					<title>Technology Helps City Increase Housing Inspections for Homeless by More Than Half, and Lease Signings by One Quarter</title>

					The New York City Department of Homeless Services (DHS), IBM and Global Bay Mobile Technologies today announced that the deployment of mobile handheld devices has led to an increase in the number of permanent housing inspections DHS conducts every month by 57 percent. Since the implementation of the handheld devices, DHS has improved its ability to transition homeless families and individuals into permanent housing. In turn, the number of leases signed through DHS&#39; rental assistance program, Advantage New York, has increased, up 25 percent to date over the same time period last year.

					<title>The San Francisco Bay Area Rapid Transit Uses IBM Technology to Improve Safety and Reliability</title>

					IBM (NYSE: IBM) today announced The San Francisco Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) will use IBM software to manage the purchasing, inventory, and maintenance systems that support trains, stations, equipment and operations. The use of this software is expected to contribute to more efficient operations, improved service and enhanced passenger safety. As part of a multi-year modernization project that includes updating and integrating existing equipment as well as adding new rail cars to the fleet, BART will use the software to know the condition and location of all of its assets and efficiently manage the parts and people required to fix problems - often before problems arise.

					<title>IBM and the Long Island Rail Road Improve Commuter Experience</title>

					IBM (NYSE: IBM) today announced the Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) will deploy IBM software to manage and maintain approximately 1,180 rail cars, locomotives, and their associated components to improve operations and passenger safety. As part of a project, expected to be completed in 2012, IBM will assist the LIRR in expanding its asset management system to include facilities, bridges, tunnels, and linear assets such as rail.
