Full biography
Brian J. Truskowski is the general manager of System Storage and Networking, IBM Systems and Technology Group. He is responsible for strategy, product development, marketing, sales support, and program profitability for IBM’s storage and networking businesses, which include disk, tape, networking, storage software and solutions. He is also responsible for driving the integration of storage and network solutions with IBM’s server, software, services and financing teams to deliver innovative new offerings for extended client value.
Prior to this position, he was general manager, Internet Security Systems (ISS), IBM Global Technology Services (GTS). In this role,
Mr. Truskowski led ISS in its efforts to deliver world-class security solutions. The ISS team delivered software, hardware and services capabilities that secure enterprise customers around the world.
Since joining IBM in 1981, Mr. Truskowski has held a diverse series of technical and management assignments in IBM’s systems and services businesses. He has served as IBM's global chief information officer (CIO), with responsibility for leading IBM’s transformation to an on demand enterprise through implementation of leading-edge information technology. Mr. Truskowski also served as technical assistant to Louis V. Gerstner, then IBM chairman and chief executive officer. He is a member of the IBM corporate Performance Team and Integration & Values Team.
He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from Marquette University, a Master of Science degree in management of technology from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a MBA from Winona State University, Minnesota.
Mr. Truskowski serves on the College of Engineering National Advisory Council of Marquette University, is a Member of Society of Sloan Fellows of MIT Board of Governors, and is a member of the board of Land Conservancy of Ridgefield, Connecticut.
