This course provides a comprehensive introduction to WebSphere Application Server Version 7.0 on the IBM i platform. It includes lectures and hands on lab exercises enabling you to create, configure and manage your Web application environment. Topics include Java EE and WebSphere Application Server basic concepts, administration and analysis tools, deploying applications, problem determination, performance analysis, security, WebSphere Application Server Network Deployment basics, and backup and recovery.
This course uses WebSphere Application Server V7.0 on the IBM i platform. for education on Websphere Application Server V6.1 on the IBM i platform, refer to AS940.

Audience
This is an intermediate-level technical course for IBM i professionals responsible for installing, configuring and administering Java EE based Web applications in a WebSphere Application Server Version 7.0 environment. It is also appropriate for WebSphere Application Server administrators from other operating system and hardware platforms that wish to expand their skills.
