Audience
This is a basic course for System i programmers, with or without Java programming skills, who want to generate Web front-ends toSystem i applications that use Data Description Specifications (DDS) for their green screen transactions and who want also to deploy those applications over a corporate Internet or Intranet where rapid deployment takes precedence over customizing the look and feel of each page.
The course requires familiarity with IBM WebSphere Development Studio Client for System i and the Windows operating system. The course also assumes individuals are experienced in developing and maintaining System i applications that use DDS for their green screen transactions.
Prerequisites
You should have:
Familiarity with iSeries 5250 interactive application development and display files
Knowledge of the Internet and World Wide Web
Familiarity with Web and Java technologies
- TCP/IP
- Hypertext Markup Language (HTML) and JavaServer Page (JSP)
- Servlet and Java Beans
