Onsite Testing Guidelines

  1. Up to two tests may be registered for at one time. Upon completing one test, another one may be registered for, and so on. Book an early test session, take the test, and then register for another to secure multiple testing opportunities during the event.
  2. The same test may only be taken twice in a 30 day period by an individual. Both attempts may be at this event.
  3. For each test session, test takers are required to sign-in to take the test, and show their event badge, and one photo ID with signature.
  4. Previous IBM test takers need to bring their candidate/testing ID number.
  5. Tests are closed-book and computer-based, containing multiple-choice questions. They are delivered in a proctored environment via the password protected, web-based tool Prime. Previous users of Prime are to bring their username and password.

Exam Preparation Resources

How can you prepare for certification exams? Preparation for exams requires a variety of resources including structured learning combined with real-world, practical experience. Always make use of the Exam Objectives published by the IBM Collaboration Solutions certification program. For preparation resources, including Assessment tests, courses and product documentation go to the IBM Collaboration Solutions Certification page, select the path you are pursuing and then click on that particular exam to view the overview, objectives and test preparation pages for that exam. Or select an exam from the list below to be taken directly to that test’s overview page. Note that conference attendees will have access to a Virtual Prep Lab for the duration of the conference, which will contain links to exam guides, preparation resources, Collaboration Solutions authorized courses and assessment tests.

  • Exam preparation resources
Each exam has its own test preparation page which lists available resources for that exam. We encourage you to look at this page and select the learning resources that fit your style and enhance the skill areas upon which you wish to focus. Using the exam objectives is a smart choice to determine what is covered on the exam. From there, you can use the individual test preparation pages to select the resources you'd like to use to study for the exam. You will find the individual test preparation pages by going to the appropriate exam overview page and then selecting the “Test Preparation” tab.
  • Exam Objectives
Exam objectives detail the competencies measured on each test. These competency listings are available online via the exam overview page – simply select the “Objectives” tab.
  • IBM Collaboration Solutions authorized courses
Classroom training provides a forum for hands-on learning with opportunities to answer specific questions and share critical knowledge. Classes are taught by IBM Collaboration Solutions Certified Instructors using courseware developed by our experienced curriculum development team. To find what courses are available for a particular exam, please go to the test preparation tab from the exam overview page.
  • On-line, self-paced training
Online, self-paced training is designed to enable you to work on your own desktop at a pace which suits your particular needs. To find what self-paced training is available for a particular exam, please go to the test preparation tab from the exam overview page.
  • Assessment tests
Assessment tests give you the opportunity to measure your progress and prepare for your testing day. These computer-based tools simulate the actual testing environment you're likely to encounter and many of the questions are similar to what you will find on your actual IBM Collaboration Solutions exam. Please note that the score you receive on a practice test isn't an exact indicator of how you'll do on your exam. It is a preparation tool designed to help you meet your goal. You will find the links to available practice tests by selecting the “Sample / Assessment Test” link on the test preparation page. During the conference, free assessment tests will be available via the Virtual Prep Lab.
