Role
WebSphere Registry and Repository system administrator must possess strong administration
skills in order to fully integrate IBM WebSphere Registry and Repository with products such as IBM Enterprise Service Bus (WESB), IBM WebSphere Process Server (WPS) and IBM WebSphere Message Broker (WMB). This individual should also have some application development knowledge in order to implement registry, repository, governance and other features of WSRR successfully.
Assumptions
It is assumed that the individual starting this training path is already able to:
- Define service-oriented architecture (SOA)
- Explain the concept of the IBM SOA Foundation
- Define the five elements of the SOA lifecycle
- Describe the main components within the IBM SOA Reference Architecture
- Explain the relationship between Web services and SOA
Objectives
After completing this training, students should be able to:
- Identify the role of WSRR in the IBM SOA reference architecture
- Explain the concept of the enterprise service bus pattern
- Explain the concept of SOA governance
- Describe the main functions of IBM WebSphere Service Registry and Repository (WSRR)
- Explain the problem domain solved by WSRR
- Configure the WSRR Eclipse plug-in to connect with an instance of WSRR
- Develop a WESB mediation flow in IBM WebSphere Integration Developer (WID)
- Assemble a mediation module in WID
- Develop a custom plug-in for validating service metadata entries
- Develop a custom notifier to push physical object changes to derived objects
- Identify the Web UI elements that can be customized
