Role
The integration developer is responsible for the assembly of application components and services into a complete solution, and the preparation of this solution for thorough testing and subsequent deployment.
The integration developer uses IBM WebSphere Enterprise Service Bus V6.2 to connect and integrate standards-based Web services applications and data. They use IBM WebSphere Integration Developer V6.2 to develop and test mediation flows and custom mediations.
Assumptions
It is assumed that the individual following this roadmap has basic skills in the following areas:
- Good understanding of business solutions and the business environment
- Knowledge of application components and services, and the ability to implement their efficient collaboration at run time
- Familiarity with the Java programming language and J2EE Web services
Objectives
After completing this training, students should be able to:
- Explain the role of an Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) in a Service Oriented Architecture (SOA)
- Describe the ESB capabilities of WebSphere Enterprise Service Bus V6.2
- Describe the key concepts for development and deployment of mediations: mediation modules, mediation flows, Service
- Message Objects, and mediation primitives
- Use the tools available within WebSphere Integration Developer V6.2 that support the development and deployment of integration artifacts to WebSphere Enterprise Service Bus V6.2
- Develop, test and deploy mediations using WebSphere Integration Developer V6.2
- Develop custom mediation primitives using WebSphere Integration Developer V6.2
- Integrate WebSphere MQ as a foreign bus in WebSphere ESB
