Course description: IBM Maximo Asset Management V7.1 Implementation - Preparing for the Certification Exam (ILO) - Updated

NOTE: This is a live, instructor-led online course. Do not make arrangements to travel. See the Student's Machine Requirements section for the equipment required to participate in the lectures and hands-on labs. After you are confirmed in the class you will receive further instructions to access audio, video and remote labs.

This Instructor-Led On-line seminar focuses on specific needs of the class, determined from the pretest assessment of students preparing to take the IBM Professional Certification exam for IBM Maximo Asset Management 7.1. Prior to class you should complete the skills assessment to determine your current proficiency level. The purpose of this exam is to identify key areas that will be covered in class. You will receive a second voucher to take a second proficiency exam at a time of your choosing to assess your progress after the class is completed.

NOTE: When you participate in this class you will receive a third voucher which entitles you to take the Professional Certification exam for Maximo Asset Management 7.1 Implementation, exam number 000-015.

This class is intended to be a review of topics covered on the IBM Professional Certification exam.  Students are expected to have mastered the topics outlined in the exam objectives document for this test as published on www.ibm.com/certify and have hands-on experience working with the product prior to attending this review class.

IBM Maximo Asset Management V7.1 Implementation:

• Knowledge of IBM Maximo Asset Management V7.1 infrastructure components-Skill level 1
• Knowledge of IBM Maximo Asset Management V7.1 functionality -Skill level 2
• Knowledge in asset and work management lifecycle-Skill level 3
• Knowledge of application servers (WebSphere Application Server and WebLogic Server)-Skill level 2
• Knowledge of operating systems, networking, and firewall concepts-Skill level 2
• Knowledge of XML-Skill level 1
• Knowledge of SQL databases such as DB2, Oracle and SQL Server-Skill level 3
• Knowledge of security (SSL, data encryption, system user accounts, directory servers) -Skill level 1
• Knowledge of  protocols including HTTP, SNTP and LDAP-Skill level 1

Foundations of Tivoli Process Automation Engine (covered in course TT901G):

• Knowledge of SQL for supported databases -Skill level 2
• Knowledge of the ITIL framework and methodology -Skill level 1
• Basic knowledge of administration of database and web server components -Skill level 1
• Knowledge of service management process relationships -Skill level 2
• Knowledge of common corporate process relationships (i.e accounting, purchasing, human resources) -Skill level 1
• Knowledge of Tivoli process automation engine product set -Skill level 2

This course helps students prepare for Test 000-015, Maximo Asset Management 7.1 Implementation. This is one of the two exams that assess the skills and knowledge for IBM Certified Deployment Professional - Maximo Asset Management V7.1.  This certification requires a passing score on Test 000-017, Foundations of Tivoli Process Aautomation Engine, and Test 000-015, IBM Maximo Asset Management V7.1 Implementation.

To participate in both the lectures and labs for this course, the student workstation must meet the following hardware requirements:

• Minimum of 256 MB of memory
• Windows 98 or higher
• Headset with microphone, or separate microphone and speakers
• Internet Explorer 5.5 or higher
• 128-bit encryption (Versions of Internet Explorer prior to version 6.0 and Windows 98, NT 4.0, and 2000 must have the High Encryption Packs installed)
• Citrix ICA Client (Installed when you access e-lab during class)
• High speed internet (56K bps or higher)

NOTE: The Citrix application (web client or full package) requires access to port 443 (https). Please ensure personal and corporate firewalls have this port open.
