As external storage becomes more widely used with System i™, many IBM System Storage solutions involve the System i platform. In this technical course, System Storage specialists can learn about the System i architecture and its requirements for being part of a successful solution. Discuss System hardware, operating system, and storage management concepts. During hands-on labs, gain experience with managing disk volumes and sizing an external storage solution for System i. Understand the requirements for a successful High Availability (HA), Disaster Recovery (DR), or backup solution for System i using Copy Services.
Hands-on labs
Several labs are included to address identifying System i hardware resources, exploring the i5/OS command line and Graphical User Interface (GUI), managing disk storage, sizing with Disk Magic for System i, and creating a hardware and volume layout plan.
