This five-day instructor-led course teaches students how to use the many features and capabilities of IBM WebSphere Business Modeler by applying Business Process Management (BPM) practices. The course provides intensive training in business process modeling and analysis using simulation and distributions, while also demonstrating the powerful capabilities of WebSphere Business Modeler's advanced features.
Organizations need a clear understanding of how their processes work in order to meet the demands of a constantly changing business environment. WebSphere Business Modeler can support process improvement by capturing a comprehensive view of the processes that underlie how companies do business.
In this course, students explore Business Process Management scoping and methodology and learn about project standards. The course also focuses on concepts and procedures, from different modeling modes, that are used to modify and customize business process models. Using these concepts, students participate in interactive discussions on solution modeling and build their own models based on a business scenario. Other topics covered in this course include project versioning, modeling solutions, and Web publishing.
Hands-on lab exercises give students the opportunity to gather project requirements and set goals. Students also create, analyze, report, and update business process models by using the Swimlane editor, import data from other tools like Microsoft Visio, link requirements with Rational RequisitePro, and review these models on the Publishing Server.
