This course provides the basic skills required by an administrator for any of the WebSphere MQ queue managers except WebSphere MQ for z/OS or WebSphere MQ for iSeries.
Audience
This is an intermediate course for technical professionals who require the skills to be an administrator for any of the WebSphere MQ and MQSeries Level 2 queue managers except WebSphere MQ for z/OS and WebSphere MQ for iSeries, or to provide support to others performing this task.
Prerequisites
Before taking this course, you should:
- Have knowledge of WebSphere MQ to the level covered by courses A Technical Introduction to WebSphere MQ (WM010) or (MQ01)
- Be reasonably familiar with, and be able to invoke simple functions within, the operating system environment used for practical exercises
- (Optional) Have a basic knowledge of SNA LU6.2, TCP/IP or NetBIOS configuration
Skills taught
- Plan the implementation of WebSphere MQ on a selected platform
- Install WebSphere MQ
- Perform simple customization and administrator tasks
- Enable a queue manager to exchange messages with another queue manager
- Enable a queue manager to support a WebSphere MQ client
- Implement basic restart and recovery procedures
- Perform basic problem determination
